2011 Projects with Balkan Heritage Foundation – National Institution STOBI In 2011, the collaboration between Balkan Heritage Foundation and NI Stobi resulted with three different projects: Pottery conservation workshop (June 2011), Workshop for conservation of wall paintings (June 2011) and Archaeological field school (August and September 2011). The funds of the individual donations made by the participants were donated to NI Stobi by the Balkan Heritage Foundation. The 1 911 000 denari of the donation were used for maintenance of the archaeological site Stobi, the touristic promotion and support of three different conservation projects: Conservation of the mosaic in the House of Peristeria, Conservation of the fountain in the House of Peristeria and Conservation of the House with a triclinium.
2010 Collaboration with Balkan Heritage Foundation – National Institution STOBI During June and August 2010, pottery conservation workshop and an archaeological fieldschool were organized by Balkan Heritage Foundation and NI Stobi. After the projects were finished, Balkan Heritage Foundation donated 1 324 000 denari for maintenance of the archeological site Stobi and improvement of the touristic offer. The funds were raised through individual donations by the participants in both of the projects.
In 2010, 4 year sponsorship agreement was signed between NI Stobi and the Stobi Winery. 20 000 EU per year will be used for better maintance of the archaeological site Stobi and wider presentation of the cultural heritage.
2010 U.S. Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP) – National Institution STOBI On September 27, 2010, Ambassador Reeker was joined by Minister of Culture Kanceska-Milevska in signing a grant for $72,600 from the State Department's Ambassador's Fund for Cultural Preservation. The grant will preserve the frescoes from the Old Epsicopal Basilica (4th century) in Stobi. These are the oldest Early Christian frescoes in R. of Macedonia. (Photos)
